What sightseeing products do you offer in each city?

Yellow Tours and Experiences offers different sightseeing experiences depending on the destination in Portugal.

Lisbon: we operate several Hop-On Hop-Off bus, an exclusive tram circuit, a river cruise on the Tagus. These tours allow you to explore the city at your own pace. Madeira: we also offer Hop-On Hop-Off bus circuits that cover the island’s main viewpoints, coastal areas and attractions. Porto and the North: We do not offer Hop-On Hop-Off in Porto. Instead, we operate full day and half day guided tours that highlight the region’s culture, wine heritage, landscapes and historical towns.

How do I receive and use my online tickets?

After completing your online purchase, you will receive a voucher by e-mail. You can present this voucher either printed or on your smartphone when boarding. The driver will exchange your voucher for the official Yellow ticket, which you must keep for the entire period of validity. Once the voucher is exchanged, it is no longer valid for future use. This process ensures quick and convenient access to your Hop-On Hop-Off circuit or guided tour.

What is the validity period of my voucher?

The validity of your voucher depends on the type of ticket you purchase:

  • Flexible Ticket: The voucher is valid for 180 days from the date of purchase.
  • Ticket with a Defined Date: The voucher is valid only for the selected date during the purchase process. If you are unable to use your voucher within the validity period, you can request a date change at no additional cost, as long as the product is still available. Simply contact us at yellowbus@carris.pt to update your booking.

This policy ensures flexibility and allows you to adjust your visit if your travel plans change.

How can I cancel my ticket and request a refund?

You can request a free cancellation and refund within 14 days after the purchase, as long as the ticket has not been used. After this 14-day period, refunds are no longer possible.

To request a refund, simply contact us by e-mail at yellowbus@carris.pt and provide your order details.

If I don’t want to buy online, where else can I purchase Yellow tickets?

  • On board: Directly with the driver when boarding the bus.
  • Lisbon: At the Yellow Kiosk in Praça do Comércio (opening hours: 09:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00)
  • Funchal (Madeira): At the Yellow Shop on Rua Simplício dos Passos Gouveia (opening hours: 09:00–13:00 and 13:30–17:30)
  • Official Yellow Agents: Accredited sales partners where you can buy tickets in person.

What are the advantages of the Yellow ticket?

How does the Hop-On Hop-Off system work?

With a Hop-On Hop-Off ticket, you can get on and off the bus at any stop, as many times as you want, during the validity of your ticket and within the operating hours of each circuit. This allows you to explore the main attractions at your own pace and rejoin the tour whenever you're ready.

Are the circuits wheelchair-accessible?

Hop on hop off Tours: most of the buses have access ramps, but there are still some that don't

Hills Tramcar Tour: there is space to stow a folded wheelchair in the back of the tram. However, it's an old vehicle so there's no ramp, the entrance is narrow and there are three high steps

Yellow Boat Tour: there is space to store a wheelchair but no access ramp

Is it possible to take pets on Yellow tours?

Yes, you can bring small pets on all our vehicles (panoramic buses, trams and boat), as long as they are transported inside appropriate pet carriers and do not occupy a seat. On tours operated with closed buses, only guide dogs are allowed, and they do not need a carrier.

Can I travel with a baby carriage?

Yes, it is possible as long as it is accommodated in a place that does not block the passage of other passengers.

What do I do if I lose my ticket?

Yellow Bus is not responsible for the theft or loss of tickets. Check our Terms and conditions page for more information.
